GEC THRISSUR CAMPUS REVIEW

Likes

College provides an inspiring atmosphere and faculty
Easy to reach as it is located near to railway station and public transport station and close to the main Thrissur town
Different clubs and activities to cherish and upgrade skills and interests of each student

Dislikes

Way of teaching can be improved, involving methods using video classes and practical sessions

Placement Experience:

Various placements are offered by our college in every courses of btech. Computer science and electronics and communication engineering are on the topic in the list placed graduates. Placements are also offered for civil engineering. But mainly students chooses for mtech or other higher options or government exams in this field

A step into a world of possibilities

I found faculties with great dedication here.They are available to help students at any time .for exampleIf a student is getting low marks,they will arrange remedial classes and make him capable to attend that paper very easily.such good faculties
Campus is extended to acres.Along with academic facilities,the college provide more extra curricular facilities.That means,this college is really a great choice for a sports man or artist.
Can't let go off the academic facilities it provides.They provide best lab facilities for the respective departments

Dislikes

We got a very short semesters this year.within a period of 4 month,entire syllabus for a semester,two series exams and a semester exam had completed
This year,entire syllabus for a semester is completed within a period of 4 month.it was like information overlading
Infrastructure can be made to more attractive

Placement Experience:

Every department of our college provides placement offers. from 3rd year itself, students can attend interviews for placements. That is from the 6th, 7th and 8th semesters. The average salary package may be about 2 lakhs at first year. About 30 % of students will get placement directly from college. I am also looking forward to campus placement.

GECT gives us with a good campus life along with good friendships
A good faculties are provided here for the students especially the mechanical labs
Lots of freedom provided here is the main reason to attract me here to GECT

Dislikes

When there is an immediate strike of classes, day scholars are knowing it very late and this is been a main issue

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course provide us with good knowledge about what we should do while working in a office or company. It always provides us with more efficiency to lead and score perfectly for certain goals. Even though it is vast and tough it provide us with quite good opportunities

The placements in my college are really Placements in our college begin around the middle of 5th and 6th sem.The highest package offered in our college was around 60 LPA.15 LPA is the average package offered in our college

Exploring my college

Likes

My campus has no ragging and seniors are very friendly with their juniors and we can explore college life so much..there is no regulations for dresses..and also provide so many opportunities to increase your knowledge level..

Dislikes

Sometimes placement are very less and the quality of teachers is not that good.. somethimes there will be clashes among parties...and college fest are very lagging

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum is theory based and we don't gain practical knowledge...I think more practical knowledge should be given to students..we don't get enough time to prepare for the series.. because it's come unexpectedly

One of the best government engineering colleges in Kerala

Infrastructural facilities are good including an open ground with gallery, basketball court, gym
The college library has a decent collection of books required for academic referrals and each department has it's own library.

Dislikes

While many faculty members are knowledgeable, enhancing mentorship programs could further support students in their academic and career goals.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is relevant and rigorous, preparing students well for both personal and professional development. Two series of tests followed by the semester exam and the practical exams are included in a semester.

Life at GECT

Likes

We are able to meet new friends and we can connect to a lot of people having different mindset and perspective which increases our thinking and comprehensive capacity
We could get alot of programmes and participating in those can enhance our technical and vocabulary skills
We could learn new things and understand the engineering aspects.

Dislikes

Less usage of English makes our vocabulary less as we are more using Malayalam language.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The production engineering is one of the best course.But the faculties are not enough working for the better achievements.There are labs which is useful to learn things better.Subjects are really interesting.

Actually, the placement for BTech Civil engineering is low compared to other engineering branches but in our college placement rate is very high for all engineering branches with very high salary packages

Placement Experience:

There is a good amount of on campus placements. Which could be also be found from the college website. Computer science, electrical engineering, electronics and communication engineering these are the branches with top number of placement.

A decent review by a normal engineering student

Likes

Peaceful collage campus with plenty of places for hangout with friends filled with lot of trees
There are so many programs and workshops in collage for every special days

I will give 5/5 for the course curriculum in terms of relevance .The course I have choosed reminds me often that it is one of the best decision i i have made.Because curriculum of this course,teaching methods,the regular exams etc is moulding me everyday
