IEM Kolkata (IEM Saltlake) Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

The college works more like a schoo. There is strict dress code and in and out time is fixed and if you get in once then you can leave before the end of the day. But academics is fairly good and placement is very good. The best part is 24 hrs open Library and there are large number of books in Library. There isno concept of fine in Library and student can keep a book as long as he wants.

The company that visit is mostly TCS and gives mass recruitment. Other than that only selected company visits over here.

IEM Kolkata is the 3rd best engineering college in the state after IIT kharagpur and NIT durgapur as mentioned by the NIRF ranking. IEM has also achieved the best institute of India in Star News Award. This all drove me to take admission in the institution.

This college is quite gray but there are a few areas which demand some attention of the college authorities.

If you want campus life please don't come here. If you want only placements, you are welcomed.

Our college is quite strict which is also good in some ways and bad in some ways. There are some teachers who just come to class repeat the ppts and give their bottomine effort. And there is just a very big thing thing that in this college there is boosting of marks of students CSE and IT department irrespective of their marks which is very negative impact on the students who are giving their best.

IEM taught us that at times it is good to tame students with strict rules because that's what makes us stand out from the students belonging to the rest of the colleges. We were better prepared during the placement seasons. And most of the companies had the highest number of recruits from our college.

Placement of our college is outstanding, average 90%students were placed, some students got 3 to 5 job offer, average salary offered 20 to 30 lacs per annum, the highest salary offered is 40 lacs per annum

The college is strict in discipline,but in studies and placement our college was one of the best compared to any other colleges dealing with this subject. We get 100% placement every year in the top MNCs and we get proper and extra training before sitting for any placements. Apart from this placements the way of education was great by the professors which helped in future too.

Placements and job opportunities are very good at my college. Many well known companies visit our college to offer jobs to the students. Maximum students got placements in TCS with an average salary of 5 -6 lakh per annum. In the last year, the highest salary package from our college was 40 lakh per annum which was achieved by a student of CSE department of our college.
