GCC Guwahati Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

Students are eligible for placement after B.com 6th semester. Many companies visited our college during the time of campus placement. many companies like ICICI bank, HDFC bank, and Mahindra & Mahindra came during placement times.

Placements are held every year in the college with various companies and banks like HDFC, AXIS, etc. The students of the last semester are eligible for campus placements and they sit for the interview held.

Students are eligible for campus placement from the end semester. Only about 20 percent of the students are placed with an average salary of 150000 per year. Companies such as SBI, Reliance, and ITC came for jobs like junior accountant. The highest package is 4 lakhs per year and the lowest package can be from 60000 to 70000 per year. My plan is pre-decided, I am currently pursuing a CA which will surely complete after the completion of my degree and I might also aim for some IIM by giving the CAT exam.

Term exams usually are conducted in 5 months approx and within which there also lies a sessional exam from which 10 marks are sent to the final exam. The students must be very attentive in class as important questions are also discussed related to exams and everything else lies on preparation.

I have passed class 12 with the commerce stream that's why I choose BCom (Hons) course. The faculty in this college is awesome they are well knowledge and supportive. But the student ratio is bit high 672 students in a single batch. Teachers are well qualified they have done masters and well Ph.D. from recognized organizations. Teaching methods are good, but they usually use their local language which is a great barrier for students. The term exams are a little fast. Students get hardly 3 months before semester exams.

I love business so I took commerce. through it, I can fulfill my dreams that I have been studying for the exam were easy since my teachers were well good to me. exam hours was 1 and a half hours, commerce is love so I took it.

I chose this course because was very interested in the subjects that were provided by the college such as stock marketing, income tax, and human resource management. I found the teaching method very satisfying. The teachers make sure that the students learn what's in the book as well as give us interesting knowledge outside the book. They motivate us to study and do well in our careers. Some teachers also give is some career counseling during the classes and I think this is very needed and helpful for many students. Exams are also held timely.

The faculties are very nice, and each teacher in every department is good. Sessional exams are conducted by the college and final exams by Guwahati University. Each class consists of 100 students maximum. The minimum depends according to the admission criteria. Exams conducted were not too difficult as sessional exams are conducted by the college and the college provides guidance whole conducting them with proper implementation.

5 semesters onwards a student is eligible for campus placement. the highest and lowest package is 5- 20 LPA. The percentage of students getting placement every year is 50-65%. my plans after I get my degree is MBA

I have chosen bcom Hons, in our college because it was a well-known institution in our state, faculty: student 1:60, the professors were well qualified, they teach in a simplified way, there are two exams each semester, sessional and final, easy to pass if you prepare honestly
