The college boasts a highly qualified and supportive teaching faculty, with a teacher-student ratio of approximately 1:3. Each department typically includes a Head of Department or professor, two associate professors, and three to five assistant professors, with additional tutors holding at least an MBBS or M.Sc qualification. Faculty members are described as enthusiastic, approachable, and cooperative, aiding students in both academic and research activities such as ICMR projects. The course spans 5.5 years, including a one-year internship, with clinical rotations starting in the second year.
Annually, the college conducts three internal exams and one final exam in accordance with the RGUHS pattern, each comprising theoretical and practical assessments. While internal exams can be challenging, most students pass the final exams with adequate preparation. However, there is a noted shortage of non-teaching staff and a need for additional faculty in clinical subjects, particularly in the third and fourth years. Despite these challenges, the faculty-student interaction is positive, fostering a conducive learning environment.
