IISER Kolkata Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

I wanted to study pure science that's why i took the course the course curriculum us sufficient you can get a good PhD offer if you do the courses religiously the teachers are good and they can improve the quality of teching by making interactive slide and give visual examples exams happen in mid amd end sem with average difficult level

The placements are not that much as this is a research institute and people opt to go for PhD abroad. The percentage of people who get PhD abroad is around 60% and they also get fellowship for their experience during their phd

Curriculum is a bit hectic and you have to study a lot if you're a nerd and want to pursue basic science or become a scientist then this is best place for you the faculty is decent and you get a good exposure

There is very few so-called campus placement here. Placements are mainly from IITs and NITs. Here if You are interested in research then only come. Even the students don't think of placements here because It's not a good place for placements.

Since iiser Bhopal is a research college so they don't focus mainly on placements although there is a placement cell in iiser most of the students after doing graduation choose to study further. But if any student wants to do a job after graduation they can appear in a college placement interview and they do jobs. But I want to study further.

I chose this course as it is interdisciplinary. This means I have to study all subjects for 2 years. It is my interest in research and basic science. The faculty is amazing but the administration is slow. The faculty members are very good. Term exams twice. And it is difficult.

Students who have submitted their Ph.D. research work can attend the program.

The institute was comparatively nearer to my home state, while at the same time offered a sense of independence that can be found only after leaving home state.The professors and research experience provided by the institute was excellent.The only prospective bad thing about the college might be it's location, situated in Kalyani it is nearly a 1.5hrs travel by train from Howrah station in Kolkata and 40mins drive from dum dum airport.But I wanted a peaceful place away from all the bustling of the city so the institute was perfect for me.

Good infrastructure, good teachers, well organised exams classes holidays, good playing grounds with all available sports, various cultures students to give you a new experience, occasions on every festivals.
