The Entrance Exam that students must sit for in order to get admission in MTech course are GATE, PGCET, AP PGECET, TS PGECET etc. The application for GATE 2023 took place between August 30, 2022 to October 7, 2022. The GATE Exam took place between February 4, 5, 11 and 12, 2023.

MTech Entrance Exams: Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates must hold an acceptable entrance exam score and a BTech or BE degree from an accredited university.
  • Candidates must have received a minimum of 60% in their overall undergraduate programme grades.
  • They must have taken courses in math’s, science, statistics, computer science, or something comparable to these.
  • Candidates appearing in their final year of their undergraduate programme may also apply as there is no age restriction for MTech Admission 2023.

MTech Entrance Exam Syllabus

Most of the MTech entrance exams have a common exam format and syllabus. To pass the exams, candidates are required to show a strong command of concepts like reasoning and quantitative aptitude. They need to be knowledgeable about the material they studied in order to graduate. The widespread entrance exams for B.Tech and their syllabus are briefly described in the table below.

GATE 2023 The GATE paper is divided into two sections: General aptitude is a relevant topic. Both verbal and numerical aptitude are parts of general aptitude. Candidates can study it in books like RS Aggarwal's. Quantitative aptitude as well as verbal and non-verbal reasoning. Candidates for English may consult Wren and Martin.
IITH PGEE 2023 Basic aptitude, logical reasoning, and questions on computer science and mathematics at the starting point are all included in the IITH PGEE syllabus. Questions in mathematics include those related to probability theory, real analysis, and finite dimension linear vector space. The topics in the computer science curriculum include Control Flow, Functions, Recursion, Basic Data Structures, Basic Algorithms, Boolean Algebra, Digital Building Blocks, and C/C++.
OJEE 2023 The OJEE exam for M.Tech includes 60 questions from the important branch subject, 20 questions from engineering mathematics, and 10 questions from analytical and logical reasoning. Candidates can get ready for engineering mathematics by studying subjects like differential equations, transform theory, and numerical methods..
Karnataka PGCET 2023 The exam has 120 questions, 120 of which are from the specialisation areas that candidates for the M.Tech. programme wish to pursue. Candidates must create a syllabus for their desired course at the graduate level. Since there is no deductible marking in this exam, applicants should try to maximise their score by effectively preparing for this entrance.
TS PGECET 2023 Subjects taught at the graduate level in a variety of specialisations make up the TS PGECET course structure. In this entrance exam, which is computer-based, there is no negative marking. In order to maximise their exam scores, candidates must wisely prepare for this exam.

Entrance Examination Pattern

  • No positive marking will be applied.
  • The candidate must select the choice that, in his or her opinion, is the best choice.
  • General aptitude and mathematics are covered in Section A, which has 24 questions and 40% weighting.
  • Section B (60 percent weighting): 36 Questions
    • Has Three Parts. Candidates will have to take one of the parts.
    • Questions based on each part's specialization will be covered.
  • Computer science and engineering are covered in parts 1 and 2, respectively.

MTech Admission 2023: Step Wise Guide

  • Candidates must submit their applications with their valid entrance exam results at the college's official website first.

GATE

The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is a national exam that is authorized and run in eight different parts of India. On behalf of the Ministry of Human Resources Development, National Coordinating Board, and Department of Education, the GATE Committee—faculty from IISc and seven other IITs—conducts the exam. The GATE exam is designed to evaluate students' knowledge of subjects like engineering and science.

GATE Counselling 2023: Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP) and Centralized Counselling for MTech (CCMT), two separate organizations, will conduct GATE 2023 counselling for admission to IITs, NITs, IIITs, GFTIs, and CFTIs. For GATE, there isn't a centralized counselling procedure.

Ques. GATE is a requirement for M tech?

Ans. In India, GATE is not strictly necessary for MTech approvals. If you don't have GATE results, you can apply for MTech programmes at local private universities or look into study abroad options.

Ques. What documentation is needed to be admitted to the MTech programme at IIT or NIT?

Ans. You will require the following documents to prove your date of birth: Class 10th grade marks, any form of photo identification, class 12th grade marks, qualifying examination grades and marks for all semesters, and a degree or provisional certificate. If you're awaiting results, the GATE score card, category certificate, and the Certificate of Course Completion issued by the Respective Institute in the format described on the CCMT website, GATE scorecard, category certificate if applicable, PWD certificate applicable, and Allotment Letter.

Ans. The ME/MTech degree programme admits candidates who have earned a BE/BTech degree and a valid GATE score. graduate engineering degree.
