CBSE Class 10 Results 2026: Calculate CGPA after the Exam

The CGPA refers to the Cumulative Grade Point Average. It is the total average of the grade points obtained by a student in all the subject exams that they have appeared in. The CGPA is calculated on a scale of 10.

In order to calculate the CGPA in CBSE Class 10 Results, you must follow the steps explained below:

1. Add the grade points obtained in all the subjects in the final exams. Don’t include your additional subjects.
2. Divide the total grade points obtained by the number of subjects.

How to Calculate Percentage from CBSE Class 10 CGPA?

CBSE will not provide aggregate marks or division on the CBSE Class 10 Result 2026. You can calculate your percentage using your subject-wise marks yourself.

There are 5 main subjects in the CBSE Class 10 Results. You must add up the marks obtained in each subject and divide the total by aggregate marks, including all 5 subjects (in this case, 500 with 100 marks per subject).

For example, the marks obtained in 5 subjects are:

• Subject 1 – 90
• Subject 2 – 96
• Subject 3 – 76
• Subject 4 – 85
• Subject 5 – 92

The total of these marks is 439. Now, divide this sum by 500 to obtain a decimal number

→ 439/500 = 0.878

Finally, convert this decimal to a percentage by multiplying it by 100

→ 0.878 × 100 = 87.8%

How to Convert CBSE 10th Result 2026 CGPA into Percentage?

• To get the percentage from the entire CGPA, multiply it by 9.5.
• For instance, multiply the CGPA of 8 by 9.5 to get 8 x 9.5 = 76%.

Note: This formula is applicable only for CBSE Class 10, as the CGPA is calculated on a scale of 10 in CBSE. For other boards that use a different CGPA scale, the formula to convert CGPA into percentages may differ.

CBSE Class 10 Result 2026: Passing Marks

The passing marks for the CBSE Class 10 Exam 2026 are 33% marks in each subject. This means that a student must score a minimum of 33 marks out of 100 in each subject to pass the class 10 board exams.

• In a subject involving practical work, a candidate must obtain 33% marks in the theory and 33% marks in the practical separately.

The CBSE Class 10th total marks are 500. There are 5 main subjects in CBSE, each carrying 100 marks.

• Even if a student opts for an additional subject, the final percentage is calculated considering the best 5 subjects.
• Therefore, CBSE 10th total marks remain 500 only even in the case of additional subjects.
• Your final percentage will be calculated by adding up the marks obtained in your main 5 subjects and dividing this sum by 500.
