A new medical college and hospital, “Shriram Janki”, has been inaugurated by the Bihar CM Nitish Kumar.

New Delhi: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has inaugurated a medical college and hospital on January 20, 2024, in the name of “Shriram Janki” at Sarairanjan in Samastipur district. The cost to build up the medical college in Bihar is about 590 Crore.
It is a 500-bed state of art hospital, with all modern facilities. CM said that “with the inauguration of this hospital, people of this area will not have to go to any other city for better treatment. All medical facilities with advanced tech are now available here”.
“The Center has played an important role in setting up the medical college, the hospital's capacity will soon be increased to 1,000 beds,” Nitish Kumar added.
According to the Health Department Official, accommodation for the college principal, hospital superintendent, para-medical employees, doctors, and students has been provided within the campus. It is assumed that the buildings under “Shriram Janki” are earthquake-resistant. The buildings are constructed while following the environmental norms. A ‘Dharamshala’ has also been built on the campus to provide temporary stay to the relatives of patients.
Specialist doctors are deputed in the hospital and college enrollment will be starting from this session. Along with studies, people will be able to get their treatment in Shriram Janki.
