Who will organize CAT 2025?
This year, it is IIM Kozhikode conducting CAT 2025 exam with Prof. Ram Kumar P N serving as the Exam Convenor. The exam is to be administered across 170 exam centers in India. Every year, CAT is conducted by one of the 21 IIMs in rotation.

CAT registration 2025 will be open on the official website – iimcat.ac.in. Candidates must click on “New Candidate Registration” to start the process. Register with your name, email ID, mobile number, residential address, and country. Once the login credentials – User ID and password – are generated, update the details of personal info, academics, work experience (if any), and the choice of test cities.

The CAT 2025 exam is divided into three sections:
- Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension (VARC) – 24 questions
- Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR) – 22 questions

CAT is a pretty competitive exam with over 3 lakh candidates attempting the exam every year. Since CAT 2025 is scheduled on November 30, 2025, the best time to start preparation was August – October 2024. This gives you ample time of 12 – 15 months to start from the basics, build strong fundamentals, take mock tests, and revise.
CAT registration has steadily increased every year. Based on previous year estimates, around 3 to 3.5 lakh MBA aspirants are expected to register for CAT 2025. Approximately 3 to 3.3 lakh candidates are likely to appear for the exam.
- In CAT 2024, 3.29 lakh candidates registered, and 2.93 lakh appeared for the exam.
There are no age restrictions to apply for CAT 2025. Candidates of any age are eligible as long as they meet the educational requirements. They must have completed their Bachelor’s degree or are in the final year of the qualifying exam.
This year, IIM Kozhikode will set the CAT 2025 paper. The difficulty level of their papers is generally considered moderate to slightly difficult, based on CAT 2012 and CAT 2019 papers.
