Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Inaugurated New Campus of Odia University in Puri District

New Delhi: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated Odia University's new campus at Satyabadi, Puri district, on January 24, 2024. It will cost INR 30 Crore and occupy 9.60 acres near the renowned Bana Vidyalaya.

As per the officials, the new campus of Odia University will act as a Centre of Excellence for Research and Development in Odia. It will include a School of Learning with a seating capacity of 200 students, a 64-bed hostel for male and female students, a 16-bed hostel for scholars, a library, a cafeteria and an administration building.

The campus will offer students various heritage and cultural courses including courses in Odia Language and Literature, Linguistics and Natural Language Processing, and Regional, Tribal Language and Heritage Studies. The foundation stone of the campus was laid in October 2018.

Informing about the new campus, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said, “When the use of language increases, it enriches and increases the glory of the nation. Today, the campus of Odia University was inaugurated. The first World Odia Language Summit is going to be held soon”.
