New Delhi: The Delhi High Court has rejected a plea submitted by 27 CA students to postpone the ICAI CA 2024 Inter and Final exams. The petition asked to postpone the CA Inter and Final exams till June 2024, reasoning that the Lok Sabha elections in May might cause transportation issues and problems with voting. However, this petition was rejected and met with a response of shock from the court.

The bench said during the judgment, "You have no business to be CA if you can’t study due to election…[the] mere fact that candidates taking the exam may face hardship in undertaking the exam cannot be a ground for the court to derail the exam which is to be taken by approx 4.26,000 aspirants. This court is surprised that such a request has been made,” it added.

ICAI CA 2024 Exam Already Postponed Once

The ICAI CA 2024 exam was already postponed to the current dates due to the exam. Only the CA Inter and Final exams are in May, and neither of them occurs on the major election date. The CA Foundation exam is in June 2024 and will not be affected by the elections.

However, CA students seem to be quite upset about the petition being rejected. Particularly, CA students residing outside of their homes have expressed their disappointment in not being able to go back home and vote due to the exams.
