New Delhi: The Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research University (DPSRU) and Akums Drugs & Pharmaceuticals Limited (Akums) have collaborated to conduct research and introduce innovative healthcare solutions for Indian patients.

In a statement released by Akums Drugs, this partnership between industry and academia seeks to enrich pharmaceutical education and research prospects for students of Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research University.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was officially signed on October 17, 2023 in the presence of Dr Harvinder Popli (Registrar & Dean - DPSRU) and Arushi Jain (Director – Akums).

Key Highlights of DPSRU and Akums Collaboration

Expressing his views on this partnership, Sanjeev Jain, Jt. Managing Director at Akums Drugs & Pharmaceuticals highlighted the collaboration's potential to address therapy gaps and introduce innovative pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, and dermo-cosmetic products and leverage strengths for product development.

Arushi Jain, Director at Akums Drugs & Pharmaceuticals, pointed out the significance of collaboration in providing students with practical industry knowledge. The initiative aims to bridge academia and industry by granting students access to necessary resources and guidance.

The efforts focus on preparing the next generation of pharmacy students to actively contribute to the country's growth. Arushi also highlighted that R&D projects assigned to students will offer live research experience, enabling them to gain a comprehensive understanding of ongoing trends in the pharmaceutical industry.
