New Delhi: In commemoration of its 75th-year valedictory celebrations, Ethiraj College for Women, Chennai has established an INR 7.5 crore scholarship fund aimed at assisting students encountering financial obstacles in their pursuit of higher education and sports.

V M Muralidharan, Chairman of the Ethiraj College Trust, highlighted the significance of funds during the 75th-year valedictory celebrations, pointing out the commitment to ensuring that financial barriers never hinder access to education and opportunities. Furthermore, the Ethiraj College for Women inaugurated a new administrative block on March 20, 2024.

Addressing the gathering during the celebrations, Former West Bengal Governor Gopalkrishna Gandhi emphasized that this institution has a responsibility to help address the great agony of domestic violence within the institution of marriage.

Tamil Nadu IT Minister Palanivel Thiaga Rajan advocated for elite institutions in the state, stating that however, the elite should not be the determining factor for elite institutions. The criteria for elite institutions should be based on the quality of work and the level of intellectual accessibility.
