GATE CCMT 2023: Counselling Process
The GATE CCMT 2023 Counselling process typically encompasses five stages. The sequence of the GATE counselling process is outlined below:
Stage 1: CCMT Registration, Choice Filling, and Choice Locking:
The initial stage involves the online process of CCMT registration, choice filling, and choice locking. All eligible candidates must register on the CCMT Portal and pay the registration fees. Once registered, candidates need to complete an application form where they can select their preferred courses and institutes for admission. The choices can be modified until the last date of choice filling.
Stage 2: CCMT Seat Allotment & Seat Acceptance Fee Deposit:
Based on the choices made by the candidates and their merit, seats will be allocated. The final seat allotment result will be available online, and it will not be sent individually via post or email to the candidates. To confirm a seat, candidates need to deposit a fee of INR 30,000. Once the seat is accepted, candidates should keep a printed copy of the allotment letter for the reporting and verification process.
Stage 3: Online CCMT Document Uploading:
Candidates are required to upload all the essential documents for the document verification process. However, the document uploading option becomes available only after the payment of the seat acceptance fee. Upon reporting to the designated Reporting Centers, candidates have several options regarding their allotment. The following options are available:
- Floating: If candidates desire to participate in the subsequent counselling rounds for seat upgradation, they can choose the floating option. By selecting this option, they will be considered in the next round for all their higher preferred choices.
- Sliding: Candidates have the option to choose sliding if they wish to be considered for a higher preferred choice within the institute they have been allotted.
- Freezing: If candidates are satisfied with the allotted seat and do not wish to upgrade, they can select the freezing option. This allows them to secure the seat allotted to them for admission.
Stage 4: Online CCMT Document Verification:
The verification of documents is conducted online by an officer from the allotted institute. In case of any errors, doubts, or omissions, a query will be sent to the candidate. The candidate must provide supporting documents if required. Failure to do so will result in the candidate being classified as "Not-Reported," and the allotted seat will be cancelled.
Stage 5: Online Admission in the Finally Allotted Institute:
After the document verification, candidates must pay the remaining fees (excluding the Seat Acceptance Fees) to the institute. Candidates who register for special rounds are exempted from paying the fees.
