IACS Kolkata Admission 2026 Begins @iacs.res.in; Apply by April 30

The Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS), Kolkata, has opened its admission portal for the academic session 2026-27. Known as the oldest research institute in India and the home of the Nobel Prize-winning "Raman Effect," IACS is inviting bright and motivated students to apply for its prestigious science programs.

For the Integrated BS-MS program, admission will be based on the IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) 2026 scores. It is mandatory for candidates to apply through the IACS application portal in addition to registering for the IAT. The institute also offers Master’s, Integrated Master’s-Ph.D., and regular Ph.D. programs across various scientific schools, including Chemical, Physical, Biological, and Mathematical Sciences.

IACS eligibility for BS-MS: Candidates who passed 10+2 in 2024, 2025, or are appearing in 2026 are eligible. Students promoted to the fourth year of the Integrated program may be eligible for a monthly stipend per institute norms.

Following New Education Policy guidelines, students can exit after the 1st year (Certificate), 2nd year (Diploma), 3rd year (BS), or 4th year (BS with Research). Master’s and Ph.D. programs are available in specialized schools such as Applied and Interdisciplinary Sciences and Materials Sciences. All BS-MS aspirants must provide their IAT application number on the IACS portal to be considered.
