New Delhi: Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has recently changed the convocation experience for graduating students. The university will now issue blockchain-based digital credentials as well as physical certificates and degrees to university students.

Informing about the process, IGNOU officials said, "Blockchain-supported distribution of degrees will ensure faster submission and authentication of degrees through DigiLocker." Through this, graduating students will have the option to attend the convocation or receive their degrees through the post. 

To download the IGNOU Digital Degree 2023, candidates who have successfully passed all subjects will have to login to their candidate profile through the official website. The signed certificate and degrees for the program will be available in PDF format on the candidate portal.

Steps to Download IGNOU Digital Degree 2023

Candidates can download their IGNOU Digital Degrees through the official website of the university by following the steps mentioned below: 

Step 1: Visit the official website of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) at ignou.samarth.edu.in.

Step 2: From the homepage, click on the “New Registration” button, choose the program and enter your enrolment number as required. 

Step 3: Login by entering your login credentials and click on the “My Certificates” link available. 

Step 4: Click on the 'All certificates' option and go to the download option.

Step 5: Download the PDF file in Adobe Acrobat Reader for Signed Digital Degree and save it for future reference.

Earlier, the university awarded degrees, certificates and diplomas to the students who finished their course in December 2021 and have also appeared for June 2022 term-end examinations during the online convocation. The IGNOU 36th Convocation was held on April 3, 2023.

At the convocation, 55% of students were females out of the total students who received their degrees. President Droupadi Murmu awarded gold medals to top students and 2,79,918 degrees, diplomas, and certificates were conferred at the IGNOU 36th Convocation..
