IIM Bangalore Welcomes New Batch of NS Ramaswamy Pre Doctoral Fellowship Program

New Delhi: IIM Bangalore welcomed the sixth batch of its NS Ramaswamy Pre-doctoral Fellowship program on the campus ground on May 08, 2023. The batch consists of twelve candidates; eight female and four male students from various parts of the country. 

As per IIM Bangalore, the participants who joined the fellowship program will receive guidance from experienced faculty members of the institute. The program will commence for a duration of one year, during which candidates will get expert guidance in writing research proposals. 

Throughout the IIM Bangalore Pre-Doctoral Fellowship Program 2023, participants will have the opportunity to interact with current and previous PhD scholars of the institute and experience the student lifestyle at the IIM Bangalore campus.

The fellowship program will introduce participants to various areas of Decision Sciences, Entrepreneurship, Information Systems, Public Policy, Production & Operations Management, OB&HRM, Economics, Strategy, and Marketing throughout the curriculum.

Welcoming students on campus, IIM Bangalore Director Professor Rishikesha T Krishnan said, “We have a good record in terms of many of our Pre-doc students getting admission to good PhD programs in India and abroad. This is an important year in your life as it will help you improve your credentials in applying to a doctoral program”.

He encouraged students to use their time well and take advantage of the facilities available at the campus such as the excellent library, great databases and sports facilities. He further motivated them to build a network with like-minded scholars by attending seminars and collaborating on projects.

Speaking on this occasion, students shared that they are excited to join the campus and receive training from experts that would further help them in enrolling in the PhD program. After completing the program, participants will be ready to take tests and interviews in universities for PhD admissions.

Prof Allen Ugargol, Prof Ludvig Levasseur, Prof Prateek Raj, Prof Thirthatanmoy Das and Prof Aditya Shrinivas, faculty mentors in the fellowship program urged the participants to interact with other faculty members as well as the current PhD students and build a strong network. 

Other members who spoke at the event include Prof Anil B Suraj, Chairperson of the NSR Pre-doc Fellowship Program, Prof Rahul De, Dean Programs, Prof. Bandi, Dean Administration and Faculty Mentor., Prof Ganesh Prabhu and Prof. Suresh Bhagavatula.
