New Delhi: A National Conference on "India's G20 Goals: Priorities, Prospects, and Way Forward for Creating Inclusive and Sustainable Society" is being held in New Delhi by the Dalit Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DICCI), Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jammu, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Jammu, and the Government of Jammu and Kashmir.
The theme "One Earth, One Family, One Future"—which is in line with the traditional Sanskrit ethos "Vasudahaiva Kutumbakam"—embodies the essence of India's G20 leadership.
The start of "Amritkaal"—the road leading to India's centenary of independence—and an affluent, inclusive, and cutting-edge society with a human-centric philosophy at its center is also signaled by the country's G20 Presidency.
With Manoj Sinha, the lieutenant governor of the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, being the chief guest at the inaugural session, Arun Kumar Mehta, the Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir, was the honorary guest, and Alok Kumar, the Principal Secretary for Higher Education in the Jammu and Kashmir government, was the special guest of the event.
Dr. Jitendra Singh, Minister of State (Ind. Charge), Science and Technology; Earth Sciences (Ind. Charge); PMO, PP/DoPT, Atomic Energy, and Space, was the chief guest at the farewell event.
Moreover, Jugal Kishore Sharma, a distinguished member of parliament, and Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar, the lieutenant governor of the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir's advisor, were the guests of honor during the farewell event.
Dr. Milind P. Kamble, Chairman, BoG, IIM Jammu, stated that the National Conference on G20 Goals will realize the full potential of the digital economy and address the challenges with respect to the gaps in access to connectivity, the digital marginalization of economic groups, the skewed quality of infrastructure, and the gaps in levels of digital literacy. Through this, a platform for promoting diversity and inclusion in the business and industrial sectors will be established.
According to Dr. Sharad K. Saraf, Chairman, BoG, IIT Jammu, the National Conference on G20 Goals will emphasize enhancing the use of digital technologies to improve student learning opportunities and results and leveraging digital technology for the education of special needs children.
In addition, the participants will exchange best practices for utilizing digital tools to advance inclusive and equitable quality education.
Professor B S Sahay, Director IIM Jammu, said that India's leadership in solving important issues like climate change, digitization, gender equality, and sustainable development will be transformative for itself and the entire globe.
The major engagement group discussion at this national conference would serve as the voice of the global ecosystem, uniting various stakeholders around a single issue on a common platform.
