IIM Kozhikode Increases Fellowship for PhD Scholars by 20-25%

New Delhi: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kozhikode has increased the fellowship amount for scholars enrolled in the Doctoral Program in Management (DPM) which leads to a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree by 20-25%. The announcement was made on January 18, 2024.

The DPM offered by IIM Kozhikode is a full-time, residential, and fully financed doctoral program offered to eligible candidates. Those who are currently pursuing the program will be offered INR 42,00 after the first two years and INR 45,000 after completion of the qualifying exam. Additionally, they will receive INR 50,000 on completion of the thesis proposal.

Informing about the program, the Director of IIM Kozhikode, Prof Debashis Chatterjee said, “Our DPM graduates are a crucial source of talent for management researchers and faculty in leading national and international academic institutions, as well as industry, business, government, and society”.

“This initiative will further motivate talented scholars to dedicate themselves to learning and inspire them to pursue research as a viable and rewarding career option,” Prof Debashis Chatterjee added.

According to IIM Kozhikode, two-thirds of its Doctoral Program in Management (DPM) alumni are now faculty members at major national institutes such as IIMs and IITs and universities in Europe, North America, and the Middle East.
