IIM Kozhikode's executive MBA programme sees 36.5% rise

New Delhi: The Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIMK) Kochi campus has witnessed an increase of 36% in the enrollment of the students in EPGP programme in management this year.

There are 172 executive-MBA students in the current EPGP cohort, which is the largest group on campus.

The batch also has four overseas participants, who are from the United States, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, and the United Arab Emirates. 20% of the cohort is made up of female candidates.

In order to accommodate participants from outside of Kerala, IIMK Kochi has decided to provide one weekend cohort in physical form and two weekday cohorts in online format.

The majority of this cohort includes representatives from firms like Microsoft, Amazon, Cognizant, Reliance Communications, IBM, TCS, Boeing, American Express, Tech Mahindra, Deloitte, Samsung, Capgemini, Tech Mahindra, Apollo Tyres, Adobe and Bosch is composed of businesses in the IT/ITES, government, manufacturing, and PSUs, BFSI and consulting, sales and marketing, and entrepreneur sectors/areas.

The EPGP programmes for working executives at IIM Kozhikode had their induction ceremony for the 10th batch.

The event's main guest was Alphons Joseph Kannanthanam, a former civil servant who is currently a union minister of state for culture and tourism and a supreme court attorney. Deans, chairpersons, teachers, staff, and freshly enrolled students were present for the ceremony, which was also presided over by IIM Kozhikode director Debashis Chatterjee.

While speaking during the induction event, IIMK director Debashis Chatterjee commended the candidates for passing the difficult selection procedures and praised the diversity of the class, which included candidates from a total 22 different states and more than 20% women.

"What enables our managers to perform so well? It is because of India's strongly entrenched moral outlook; in this country, acquiring wealth is both acceptable and revered. Giving management education that is firmly steeped in not just the symbolism but the reality of what it means to be an Indian is one approach to show Indian soft power”, he continued.
