With a huge development in management education in India. Indian Institute of Management has launched its hybrid Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) program. The two year EMBA program has a balance of both online and offline learning.

New Delhi: With the current landscape of business education the hybrid EMBA program comes as no surprise. The covid 19 pandemic has created the scenario of this online and hybrid learning models. Institutes are bound to change the system to this hybrid model.

Indian Institute of Management-Visakhapatnam has announced a hybrid Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) program on Sunday. Institute has become the second institute in the country to launch this program. This hybrid model of education will not only benefit the students to get comprehensive education but will also balance academic rigour with practical applications.

IIM Visakhapatnam EMBA program is designed to provide a holistic understanding of business management. It consists of a wide range of subjects such as finance, marketing, strategy, operations, and leadership. The overall curriculum comprises core courses, electives, and practical projects to ensure a well-rounded learning experience.

Burger King India Chairman and independent director D Shivakumar inaugurated the program in front of 148 students, who belong to 18 Indian states and Union Territories have gained admission to the program. Shivakumar has explained how the new technology was challenged and poured cold water on by the incumbents.

He explained to the students about the key benefit of this two-year program which will enhance their leadership capabilities and stay ahead in a competitive market. Aspirants will get on-campus residencies which will allow them to engage in face-to-face interactions with faculty and fellow participants for networking opportunities and experiential learning.

This hybrid mode of learning will benefit students to learn the theoretical concept online in a real-world setting and can apply it to enhance their managerial skills. The launch of this EMBA program at IIM Visakhapatnam has showcased the institution's commitment to providing high-quality management education that meet the needs of today's professionals.

Total participants of the programme are 148 which includes the following;

  • 74% of the participants belong to the engineering discipline
  • 12% are from the science background.
  • The participants belong to 18 states/UTs.
  • Average work experience of participants- 9 years.
  • 26% of participants belong to the IT sector.
  • 19% participants from a manufacturing background.
  • Average age of the cohort is 33 years.

The Programme chairperson Happy Paul said that the EMBA batch 2023-25 will consist of 148 working professionals coming from diverse industries such as manufacturing, IT, banking, consulting, ecommerce, telecommunication, retail etc., with an average work experience of over nine years. All the Participants would be at the campus for a five-day immersion module that will continuously run till May 25. Later, the classes will be conducted in online mode during weekends.
