IIT Bombay Inaugurates A Centre for Machine Intelligence and Data Science

New Delhi: Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay has unveiled its Centre for Machine Intelligence and Data Science (C-MInDS) on April 28, 2023.

The Centre intends to actively engage in developing the next generation of AI and DS talent, principally through research, education, and partnerships with business and government.

IIT Bombay's Kanwal Rekhi School of Information Technology (KRESIT) will serve as C-MInDS' temporary home.

The gathering of professionals from various fields to debate the expanding importance of AI/ML & related fields in various application sectors.

Chief Guest Dr. Samir Kamat, Secretary of DDR&D and Chairman of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), presided over the inaugural ceremony.

The programme includes a two-day "AI Impact Workshop" (April 28 & 29, 2023) that brought together several leaders and experts from academia, business, the military, and government to debate the use of AI and machine learning in a variety of industries, including manufacturing, engineering, and defence, among others.

The Class of 2023 was also recognised by IIT Bombay during its Valedictory Function. Famous alumni Dr. Lalit Kanodia (class of '63) and Mr. Karthik Ganapathy (class of '93) will preside over the event.

At the final showcase event, conducted on April 16, the student-led team from IIT Bombay won the 2023 Global Carbon Removal competition of the Open Air Collective, USA with the superlative of "Best Research."
