IIT Kanpur Launches Free Cybersecurity Skilling Program for SC, ST Students; Admission Open till April 30

New Delhi: As per the latest updates, the C3iHub, a Cybersecurity Technology Innovation Hub at IIT Kanpur has launched a free short-term Cybersecurity Skilling Program. Interested candidates who wish to apply for admission can submit their applications by April 30, 2023.

As per IIT Kanpur, the Cybersecurity Skilling Program will commence for a duration of two months and will be free for SC and ST category students. The program is designed to teach learners about the growing landscape of cyberspace and security.

Informing about the program, the official website reads, “The program aims to provide learners with a deeper understanding of the technical basics of cyberspace and cyber issues, introduce real-time cybersecurity techniques and methods, and focus on the models, tools and techniques for enforcing security”.

The IIT Kanpur Cybersecurity Skilling Program 2023 was launched on April 26, 2023 in the presence of Shri Vijay Sampla, Chairperson of the National Commission for Scheduled Castes. It will provide an immersive learning experience to participants throughout the course duration. 

Speaking on this occasion, Prof. Manindra Agrawal, Project Director at C3iHub, IIT Kanpur said, “We’ve tried to cover the crucial aspects of cybersecurity comprehensively in the program, and are hopeful that it will help build a robust workforce”.

The objective of this program is to provide participants with an understanding of the technical basics of cyberspace. Candidates will learn about various cyber issues and have an understanding of common cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and risks throug-h this program.

In addition to this, it will cover real-time cyber security techniques and methods. It will mainly focus on models, tools, and techniques for enforcing security with an emphasis on using cryptography. 

IIT Kanpur Cybersecurity Skilling Program will commence in online mode for 8 weeks (6 hours per week). Participants will learn through live sessions, online assignments and hands-on exercises and get a certificate from C3iHub, IIT Kanpur after completing the course.
