IIT Kanpur to Provide Ten Unique Scholarships to the Top 100 JEE Advanced 2022 Scorers

New Delhi: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur has launched 10 special scholarship programs for the top 100 rank holders of Joint Entrance Examination Advanced (JEE Advanced). This initiative will aim to offer an entire waiver of course fees to eligible students including hostel, books and miscellaneous expenses.

As per IIT Kanpur, each qualifying student under the “Bright Mind Scholarship” program will receive a yearly grant of INR 3 lakh to pay their costs during the UG program. Earlier, the “Bright Mind Scholarship” scheme was renewed for the academic year 2022, which aims to reward & encourage meritorious students.

Informing about the scholarship program, the official release from the institute shared, “The top 100 AIR in JEE Advanced is eligible for the "Bright Minds Awards," ten outstanding academic scholarships offered by IIT Kanpur”.

"The main purpose of the scholarships is to support and honour deserving students. During their time at IIT Kanpur, the scholarships will pay for all costs, including tuition and living expenses. This is a ground-breaking effort to promote and honour academic success," it stated.

The scholarship is offered to students who have been accepted for the BTech, BS programs on the basis of JEE Advanced scores.

The scholarships were originally made available in the year 2021 and were developed with the help of Lokvir Kapoor, an alumnus of IIT Kanpur. Through its scholarship program, IIT Kanpur "seeks to ensure that no deserving student faces any obstacle in their education owing to financial restrictions."

A four-year Full-time BTech, BS degree at IIT-K normally costs INR 12 lakh for undergraduate students. A student scholarship will provide financial assistance for educational expenses such as tuition, room and board, books and supplies, health insurance, transportation, and other related costs.
