JEE Advanced 2023: SC Dismissed Plea Challenging 75% Marks Criteria in Board

Earlier, the Supreme Court dismissed the plea challenging the requirement of having at least 75% marks in the class 12th board exam in order to appear for JEE Advanced 2023. The plea was heard by the bench of Justices Sudhanshu Dhulia and KV Viswanathan.

While dismissing the plea, Bench Justice Dhulia said, "2016, 2017, 2018... This condition was always there that students must have secured 75 per cent, why should we interfere? This is not a matter we want to get into''.

However, speaking on behalf of the petitioners, the counsel argued that NTA allowed students to appear for JEE Advanced during the time of the pandemic for admission to various UG courses at top IITs. However, the bench has refused to hear any application against this issue.
