Frequently Asked Questions
Ques. What are the types of JEE Main Cut off 2024?
Ans. JEE Main Cutoff is of two types - admission and qualifying. The qualifying cutoff for JEE Main is the minimum marks needed to be eligible for JEE Advanced exam. The admission cutoff is the opening and closing ranks released by JoSAA after each round of counselling for admissions to NITs, IIITs and GFTIs.
Ques. Can I get NIT with 90 percentile in JEE Mains 2024?
Ans. NITs are among the top engineering colleges in India. For admission to NITs based on JEE Main scores, candidates must aim for a rank below 30,000 which is equivalent to about 97 percentile. However, this required percentile might change with the category. Candidates belonging to OBC/ EWS category will require a percentile less than 90 for admission to NIT.
Ques. I have a low rank in JEE Mains 2024. Should I drop out and prepare for the next year or check for admissions in private colleges?
Ans. It is usually not advisable to drop a year in the quest for a better rank in JEE Main exam. Many institutes of state-level degrees and private colleges offer standard education even if not to the level of IITs and NITs. You can go ahead with your engineering degree from any of these institutes rather than wasting one complete year.
