NTA has reported cases of impersonation and unfair practices identified through remote AI tools after day 1 of JEE Main 2024. This AI tool confirms who the candidates are by comparing the photo on the admit card with a live photo taken at the center.

New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has reported a case of impersonation and nine cases of unfairness at various exam centers on day 1 JEE Main 2024. These cases were caught with the help of remote AI technology to match biometrics

NTA has introduced AI tools, such as iFace, to confirm candidate identities. The tool cross-verifies the candidate's photo on JEE Main 2024 admit card with a live photograph taken at the exam center, alongside mandatory frisking and electronic Know Your Customer (EKYC) processes.

This year, the JEE Main 2024 Session 2 exam will be conducted till April 12, for a total of 12.57 lakh registered candidates. The JEE Main 2024 Session 2 exam will be held on April 4, 5, 6, 8, and 9, 2024 for Paper I (BE/BTech), and on April 12, 2024, for Paper 2 (BArch/Planning).

JEE Main 2024: NTA Official Notice on Case of Impersonation and Unfair Means 

According to the latest reports, a case of impersonation was identified in JEE Main 2024 exam center in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, while nine cases of unfair means have been reported from exam centers in MP, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Maharashtra, Odisha, UP and Rajasthan. 

NTA's Strict Measures Against Malpractices 

To conduct a smooth JEE Main Session 2 exam, a complete plan was prepared, i.e., the NTA had set up dedicated control rooms in New Delhi to ensure surveillance and supervision. The Virtual monitors meticulously monitored live video streams from cameras installed in each examination room/lab, immediately alerting any irregularities they observed.

Further, a large team responsible for biometric verification, frisking, security checks, CCTV monitoring, and jammer operations has been formed. Additionally, NTA has deployed officers, observers, virtual observers, and mobile inspection teams to ensure the smooth conduction of the JEE Main 2024.
