The National Testing Agency (NTA) has concluded JEE Main 2025 January 23 Shift 2 exam at 6 PM. This shift will continue till 6 PM. Like the previous shifts, The overall difficulty level of the paper was easy to moderate. Mathematics was a bit lengthy and tough. The paper analysis and question paper will be updated here after the exam shift.
JEE Main 2025 January 23 Shift 1 exam was conducted form 9 AM to 6 PM. The paper is reported to be easy to moderately difficult, Maths was comparatively tough. Based on the initial reaction, the paper analysis and question paper are uploaded here after each shift.

JEE Main 2025 Session 1 exams will continue on—January 24, 28, 29, and 30. Candidates must download their JEE Main 2025 Admit Card for January 23, and 24 exams which was released on January 18, from the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in using their application number and password/date of birth.

JEE Main Jan 23 Shift 1 Paper Analysis
The overall difficulty level of the Shift 1 paper was easy to moderate. Check the subject-wise breakdown below
- Mathematics: Moderate to tough, with some tricky questions. The important topics included Calculus, Vector and 3D, Conic Sections,
- Physics: Easy to moderate. Questions were on Rotational Motion, Projectile Motion, Electric Circuits, Motion in a plane, Thermodynamics and Thermal properties, Modern Physics, Gravitation, EM Waves, etc.
- Chemistry: Easy to moderate, focusing mainly on Organic Chemistry. Phyisical and Inorganic Chemistry has lower weightage.
Students' Reactions
Many students found the overall paper to be easy to moderate. A significant number of NEET aspirants also attempted the exam and reported a manageable difficulty level. Several students mentioned that the structure of the paper was similar to the January 22 paper.
JEE Main Exam Process and Strict Checking

Exam Day Guidelines for JEE Main 2025
To ensure a smooth exam experience, follow these essential guidelines for JEE Main 2025 exam:
Before the Exam:
- Visit your designated exam center a day in advance to avoid any confusion.
- Arrive at the center at least 30 minutes before the reporting time mentioned on your admit card. Late entry is strictly prohibited.
- Carry essential documents, including a clear printout of your admit card and a valid photo ID.
On the Exam Day:
- Ensure you write your name and roll number on the rough sheets provided, and return them to the invigilator before leaving.
- Accurately fill out the attendance sheet with your signature, left-hand thumb impression, and photograph in the specified areas.
- Stay composed, and prioritize sufficient rest the night before to perform your best.

What to Carry to the Exam Center
- Admit card with Self-Declaration form (printed on A4 size paper)
- A transparent ballpoint pen
- An additional photograph (for the attendance sheet)
- Personal hand sanitizer (50 ml)
- Transparent water bottle
Note: Diabetic students may carry limited items like fruits and sugar tablets. Packed foods are strictly prohibited.

For JEE Main 2025 January 23 Shift 2, the doors to the exam center was opened at 1 PM. Candidates has to complete the frisking, security checks, and document verification by 2.30 PM. Invigilators gave instructions from 2.30 to 2.50 PM. Candidates were allowed to log in to their systems from 2.50 PM and start the exam at 3 PM.
Note: No candidate is allowed to enter the exam center, under no circumstances, once the dates close.
For the JEE Main 2025 Paper 1 for B.E./B.Tech, candidates must answer 75 questions. These questions are divided into Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Each subject has 2 sections – Sectiom A with 20 MCQs and Section B with 5 NATs.
JEE Main 2025 exams are being conducted strictly. No metal was allowed inside the exam center, even on clothing. Handkerchiefs were also not allowed.

NTA had to postpone the JEE Main 2025 session 1 exam for January 22 Shift 1 for candidates appearing at Examination Centre eTalent, (TC Code-40086), No.3, Belmar Estate, Nagasandra Main Rd, Bengaluru, Karnataka. The authorities stated that “due to unavoidable reason of technical snag” the exam will now be conducted on January 28/29, 2025. The updated admit card will be issued soon.
NTA is very strict about the JEE Main 2025 admit card. Your photo, signature, and barcode must be clearly visible. If the admit card is mutilated in any way, get a new print out before entering the exam center.
According to the JEE Main marking scheme you:
- score 4 marks for every correct answer
- lose 1 mark for every incorrect answer
- do not score or lose any marks for unanswered question
Candidates can use this marking scheme to estimate their marks in JEE Main session 1 exam.
NTA has started conducting the JEE Main 2025 Jan 23 Shift 1 exam at 9 AM. The exam will continue till 12 noon.
