The National Testing Agency (NTA) has concluded the JEE Main 2025 January 29 Shift 2 exam at 6 PM. The shift 2 paper is expected to be moderately difficult. The shift-wise paper analysis and question paper will be updated here after the exam based on the initial feedback.
JEE Main 2025 Shift 1 exam was conducted from 9 AM to 12 Noon. Like the previous shifts, the overall difficulty level of the paper is reported to be moderate. JEE Main 2025 Session 1 exams will continue on January 29, and 30. Candidates must download their JEE Main 2025 Admit Card from the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in using their application number and password/date of birth.

JEE Main 2025 Jan 29 Shift 1 Exam Analysis
Students who appeared for the JEE Main January 29 Shift 1 exam found the overall difficulty level to be moderate. Mathematics was the toughest section, while Physics and Chemistry ranged from easy to moderate. Compared to the January 28 exam, candidates felt that the January 29 Shift 1 paper was relatively easier. Check the subject-wise analysis here:
- Chemistry: Easy to moderate; included questions from Biomolecules, Halogens, Optical Rotation, and CFSE
- Chemical Bonding – 1 to 2 questions
- Physical Chemistry – 7 to 8 questions, more than Inorganic
- Organic & Physical Chemistry – Combined numerical-based questions, which were easy to attempt
- Physics: Moderate; key topics were Dimensions, Time Period in Pendulum, Wavelength, and Kinetic Energy
- Mathematics: Tough, with 3-4 questions from Vectors.

Memory-based question papers, along with answer keys and solutions for both shifts, will be released later today. Leading coaching institutes such as FIITJEE, Aakash, Allen Kota, and Resonance are expected to publish their solutions and answer keys. Exam Day Guidelines for JEE Main 2025
To ensure a smooth exam experience, follow these essential guidelines for JEE Main 2025 exam:
Before the Exam:
- Visit your designated exam center a day in advance to avoid any confusion.
- Arrive at the center at least 30 minutes before the reporting time mentioned on your admit card. Late entry is strictly prohibited.
- Carry essential documents, including a clear printout of your admit card and a valid photo ID.
On the Exam Day:
- Ensure you write your name and roll number on the rough sheets provided, and return them to the invigilator before leaving.
- Accurately fill out the attendance sheet with your signature, left-hand thumb impression, and photograph in the specified areas.
- Stay composed, and prioritize sufficient rest the night before to perform your best.

What to Carry to the Exam Center
- Admit card with Self-Declaration form (printed on A4 size paper)
- A transparent ballpoint pen
- An additional photograph (for the attendance sheet)
- Personal hand sanitizer (50 ml)
- Transparent water bottle
Note: Diabetic students may carry limited items like fruits and sugar tablets. Packed foods are strictly prohibited.

- Bengaluru Center: Rescheduled exams from January 22 Shift 1 due to technical issues are being conducted on January 28 and 29.
- Prayagraj Center: Candidates for January 28–30 exams have been shifted to centers in Varanasi.

Candidates have to answer 75 questions in JEE Mains 2025 exam. These questions are equally divided into Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics – 25 questions each. Every subject has 2 sections – Section A with 20 MCQs and Section B with 5 NATs.

NTA will release the JEE main 2025 session 1 answer key in the first week of February 2025. Along with the answer key, the response sheet and question paper PDF will be released. This year, IIT Kanpur is scheduled to conduct JEE Advanced 2025 on May 18, 2025. It will be conducted in two shifts for 2 papers:
- Paper 1: 9 AM to 12 Noon
- Paper 2: 2.30 PM to 5.30 PM
NTA commences the JEE Main 2025 Jan 29 Shift 2 exam starts at 3 PM. The shift will continue till 6 PM.

NTA is expected to release the JEE Main 2025 results for Session 1 by February 12, 2025. The Session 2 results will be out in the third week of April. Candidates can download the JEE main scorecard on the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in.
The Chemistry section in JEE Main January 29 Shift 1 was rated easy to moderate. The paper had a balanced distribution of topics, including 1-2 questions from Chemical Bonding. Physical Chemistry had a greater weightage with 7-8 questions, while Organic and Physical Chemistry concepts were combined into numerical questions, making them relatively easy to solve.
In the January 29 Shift 1 exam, Mathematics had 3-4 questions from Vectors, while Physics included one question from Ray Optics and 1-2 questions from Electrostatics. Overall, students found the paper to be of easy to moderate difficulty.

- EWS: 82.33–94.23
- OBC: 80.68–94.23

So far, candidates and experst agree that JEE Main 2025 Jan 28 Shift 1 was the toughest shift. Mathematics was difficult and lengthy, Physics was tougher compared to the previous shifts and Chemistry was moderate.
Yes, candidates may carry water bottle in the exam hall but the bottle must be transparent.
NTA will start the JEE Main 2025 Session 2 registration from January 31, 2025 onwards. Candidates can apply on the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in. The last date for registration will be February 24, 2025.
