Exam Day Guidelines for JEE Main 2025
To ensure a smooth exam experience, follow these essential guidelines for JEE Main 2025 exam:
Before the Exam:
- Visit your designated exam center a day in advance to avoid any confusion.
- Arrive at the center at least 30 minutes before the reporting time mentioned on your admit card. Late entry is strictly prohibited.
- Carry essential documents, including a clear printout of your admit card and a valid photo ID.
On the Exam Day:
- Ensure you write your name and roll number on the rough sheets provided, and return them to the invigilator before leaving.
- Accurately fill out the attendance sheet with your signature, left-hand thumb impression, and photograph in the specified areas.
- Stay composed, and prioritize sufficient rest the night before to perform your best.

What to Carry to the Exam Center
- Admit card with Self-Declaration form (printed on A4 size paper)
- A transparent ballpoint pen
- An additional photograph (for the attendance sheet)
- Personal hand sanitizer (50 ml)
- Transparent water bottle
Note: Diabetic students may carry limited items like fruits and sugar tablets. Packed foods are strictly prohibited.

NTA concludes the JEE Main 2025 Paper 2A and Paper 2B at 6 PM. However, for candidates who are appearing for both B.Arch and B.Plan the exam will end at 6.30 PM.

IIT Kanpur has scheduled the JEE Advanced 2025 exam on May 18, 2025. The top 2.5 lakh can appear for this exam. The exam will be conducted in two shifts:
- Paper 1: 9 AM to 12 Noon
- Paper 2: 12.30 PM to 5.30 PM
NTA has shifted the JEE Main exam centers in UP, namely Prayagraj and Ayodhya, due to the Mahakumbh congregation. Check the updated centers below:
- Prayagraj Center: exam centers for January 28–30 exams have been shifted to centers in Varanasi.
- Ayodhya Center Change: Ayodhya exam center at Institute for Advanced Computer Technology has been relocated to SRS Digital Institute, MIG-35, Kaushalpuri Colony, Phase-2, Ayodhya.
For the JEE Main 2025 Paper 2 for B.Arch/B.Plan, candidates must answer all questions. These questions are divided into Mathematics, General Aptitude, and Drawing/Planning. Mathematics has 2 sections – Sectiom A with 20 MCQs and Section B with 5 NATs.
NTA will release the JEE main 2025 session 1 answer key in the first week of February 2025. Along with the answer key, the response sheet and question paper PDF will be released. The link for the download of the answer key and response sheet will be available on jeemain.nta.nic.in. However, coaching institutes release unofficial answer key beforehand.
NTA will start the JEE Main 2025 Session 2 registration from January 31, 2025 onwards. Candidates can apply on the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in. The last date for registration will be February 24, 2025.
NTA starts the JEE Main 2025 Paper 2 exam in the shift 2 from 3 PM. The shift will end at 6.30 PM. The exam duration is for 3 hours and 40 minutes.

NTA allows the following items to be brought into the examination hall for JEE Main 2025 Paper 2 exam:
- JEE Main 2025 Admit Card
- A self-attested undertaking downloaded from NTA website
- Passport size photograph as uploaded on the online application form
- PwD certificate if applicable
- A valid ID card such as Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, etc.
- Ballpoint pen
- Transparent water bottle
Note: If you are attempting JEE Main Paper 2A (B. Arch) ‘drawing test’ then carry the required stationary.
So far, candidates and experst agree that JEE Main 2025 Jan 28 Shift 1 was the toughest shift. Mathematics was difficult and lengthy, Physics was tougher compared to the previous shifts and Chemistry was moderate.

JEE Mains 2025 Paper 2 (B.Arch/B.Plan) exam has three sections – Mathamatics, Aptitude, and Drawing/Planning. Paper 2 paper formats are given below:
