JIPMER PhD Admission 2025 (February Session) For NET Candidates

JIPMER is inviting applications from NET Fellowship-qualified candidates for PhD programs for the 2025 February session. The institute will conduct the interview of the eligible candidates on March 3, 2025.

Admissions are open for PhD in Biochemistry (3 seats), Obstetrics & Gynaecology (1 seat), and Medical Oncology (1 seat) programs offered by the institute.

JIPMER PhD Admission 2025 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates seeking admission to PhD programs must possess any one of the following qualifications:

Medical/Nursing qualification:
- MD from an MCI/NMC-recognized medical college
- MSc Nursing from an institution recognized by the INC.
- The degree(s) should have been registered with the NMC/INC.
Non-Medical Qualification: Master’s Degree (2 or 3-year course) from a UGC-recognized Indian University or equivalent in the subject as per the requirement of the project.

Candidates should have at least 60% aggregate marks (55% for SC/ST/OBC/OPH candidates) in the qualifying examination mentioned above.
Candidates, who will complete the required qualification and degree by January 31, 2025, may also apply. However, those completing their qualification after January 31, 2025, will not be eligible.
Candidates with a Master’s degree through a distance learning course are not eligible.
Must have qualified in one of the following National entrance tests in the last 2 years:
- Joint CSIR – UGC NET for JRF
- UGC – JRF
- ICMR – JRF
- UGC – SRF
- ICMR – SRF
- CSIR – JRF
- DBT – JRF
- CSIR – SRF
- DBT – SRF
- DST – JRF
- INSPIRE Fellowship
- DST – SRF
Candidates with fellowships similar/equivalent to the above are also eligible to apply.
Candidates with NET (Lectureship) qualified under DBT /DST/ ICMR / UGC are not eligible.

Selection will be based on the performance of the candidates in the interview/viva-voce. The rank list will be prepared of candidates who score more than 50% marks in the viva-voce exam.

At the time of joining or during the PhD course period, candidates should not be pursuing full-time or part-time courses or holding any regular or contract job.

Candidates working in a Government (Union/State/Autonomous) organization must submit a “No Objection Certificate” at the time of admission.

Candidates have to pay the non-refundable application fees through Net Banking / Credit Card / Debit Card. No other mode of payment will be accepted.

PhD Hostel Fees 2025 (At Admission)

**The caution and mess deposits will be refunded at the time of vacating the hostel room, after deductions, if any.

Candidates have to pay INR 12,000 as hostel fees for double/triple accommodation and INR 15,000 for single accommodation in the subsequent years, on completion of every year.
