JIPMER makes a move towards complete digitization for final theory papers by introducing an online evaluation system for MBBS and PG examinations. The institute is also preparing to launch new Super-Specialisation courses next year.
New Delhi: The Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) has introduced an online evaluation system for theory exams to improve the internal evaluation process in MBBS and postgraduate examinations.
As per JIPMER, this marks a move towards complete digitization for final theory papers. The online evaluation system enables swift digital scanning and grading of paper-based answer sheets. Additionally, it promises cost-effectiveness by eliminating the need for printing and distributing question/answer papers to both students and examiners.
According to JIPMER Director, Rakesh Aggarwal, "The online computer-based system introduced for the evaluation of scripts of theory (internal) examinations is a leap towards going fully online for final theory papers ahead of the practical examination for graduate and postgraduate courses."
"During 2022-23, the quantitative and qualitative thrust in research witnessed an uptick in the number of extramural grants sanctioned for projects. A total of 59 extramural projects were sanctioned with INR 16 crore accruing as research grants. JIPMER had sanctioned intra-mural grants to the tune of INR 2.1 crore to young researchers," added Dr Aggarwal.
JIPMER To Launch New Super-Specialisation Courses Next Year
JIPMER is preparing to launch six new super-specialized post-doctoral fellow MD/MS courses, spanning disciplines like gynaecological oncology, interventional cardiology, paediatric neurosurgery, foetal medicine, and paediatric nephrology.
In addition to this, JIPMER will organise its Sixth Doctoral Committee meeting for Ms Ramya Ramesh, a PhD scholar from the Department of Medical Oncology. PhD scholars, residents, and faculty members keen on the subject are welcome to join the meeting.
The session will delve into the topic "Integrated Analysis of Epigenetic, Protein Expression, and Metabolic Mechanisms of Drug Resistance in Relation to the Apoptotic Pathway in Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.
