J&K CUET aspirants from the Ramban district urge the LG to facilitate exam centers within the region itself, rather than in Punjab.

New Delhi: J&K LG Manoj Sinha has raised the issue of the lack of CUET examination centers in Jammu and Kashmir with the Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan as candidates from the Ramban district have their exam center in Jalandhar. Pertaining to this, the test was postponed for the local candidates.
Candidates have to qualify for the CUET-UG 2023 for admission to UG programs in top universities in India. Due to this, the students appealed to the LG to solve these issues and advocate for an accessible and smooth examination process.
"Many candidates from Ramban district have received admit cards with exam centers in Jalandhar or some other city outside Kashmir," a candidate said.
While some students also mentioned that consequently, they are required to travel to Punjab, which adds additional financial and logistical burdens, posing a disadvantage compared to candidates from other states. Candidates appealed to the LG and the exam authorities to immediately change their CUET Exam Centers near their district.
In response to the growing demand, it is hoped that the authorities will consider the concerns raised by the students and take appropriate action. Establishing exam centers in Jammu and Kashmir would demonstrate a commitment to promoting education and equal opportunities for all.
