JKBOPEE Released Tentative Seat Matrix for NEET UG 2024: Third/Mop-Up Round

The Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations has released the tentative seat matrix for third/mop-up round counseling of NEET UG 2024. The document details available seats at different government and private institutions offering MBBS and BDS across all branches in MBBS and BDS, including available converted reserved category seats-now under Open Merit or OM.

Seat Distribution Highlights

Government Medical Colleges:

According to the reports, several government medical colleges have opened seats for this round. It is observed that GMCs of Jammu, Srinagar, Anantnag, and Baramulla have been listed with seat distribution under open merit (OM) and other reserved categories like SC, ST, and others. Category-based seats will now be converted to OM for mop-up so that their remaining seats do not go to waste.

Private Institutions:

Private medical and dental colleges are also included in the seat matrix. Some of the private seats have recently been converted into open merit so that a larger number of applicants may be accommodated. Some of them stand out for their institutions like ASCOMS.

Conversion and Category Seat:

In the mop-up round, seats which had been kept under reserve for various SC, ST etc categories were made available under the Open merit category if no suitable candidate was found. This would help ensure that no seat was wasted and, as such, more chances for the student.

Seat Availability in Dental Colleges

Apart from MBBS seats, a great number of BDS seats are also available. This includes Government Dental College, Srinagar, and Indira Gandhi Dental College, Jammu. The scenario here is just like before, where the reserved seats are converted into OM for optimal utilization of the available seats.
