JMI Organises 3-Day Training Program in Systematic Review & Meta-Analysis in Dental Research

New Delhi: The Faculty of Dentistry at Jamia Millia Islamia University (JMI) recently organized a 3-day training program titled “Certificate in Systematic Review And Meta-Analysis in Dental Research”. The training program ran from March 4 to March 6, 2024. 

More than 35 delegates from premier institutes like PGIDS Rohtak, AIIMS Delhi and RGUHS Bangalore. The delegates were addressed by speakers from AIIMS, ICMR Delhi and PGIMER Chandigarh. The course also included international faculty from Utrecht University, Netherlands and Puthisastra University, Cambodia. The program also received partial funding from the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR).

A valedictory program was held to confer certificates to the participants. JMI Dean Prof Keya Sircar and Guest of Honour Prof Harpreet Grewal. Addressing the students, Prof. Grewal complimented the organizing team on coming up with the event and running it smoothly. 

She lauded the team for selecting a topic that is still new in the field of dentistry. The field of systematic review and meta-analysis is still little known in how dentists and dentistry students go about research, and learning these new systems will surely be greatly beneficial to students, people in academia, and those practicing dentistry in the field. 

Prof. Grewal also suggested that other institutes take up the topic and foster research and learning in systematic review and meta-analysis. Participant feedback from the course was also positive.
