KCET Counselling and Document Verification 2024 to be Conducted After NEET UG Results

New Delhi: The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has announced that KCET Counselling 2024 will be conducted simultaneously for all professional courses, such as medical and engineering, after the NEET results 2024 are released.

The authority has further announced that KCET 2024 Counselling dates will be released after the NEET counseling 2024 schedule. Candidates appearing for the NEET 2024 and aspiring to apply for KEA must apply through KEA for state KCET 2024 counseling. Counseling and document verification will be predominantly online; no in-person visits are required except for special children's medical exams.

The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) will open the KCET 2024 application window after the NEET UG Results are released. Candidates who couldn’t complete the initial application can complete it after the results are declared.

• Total applicants: 3,49,653
• Male applicants: 1,54,869
• Female applicants: 1,94,784
• Total appeared: 3,10,314
• Eligible students: 3,10,314 (1,39,274 male, 1,71,040 female)

The application window will tentatively open on June 17, 2024. Many students entered incorrect unique numbers while applying for CET, so their ranks were not released. About 3000 candidates are affected. The authorities have announced that the application window will reopen for these candidates to correct their mistakes.

Fresh candidates can also register online at kea.kar.nic. using their registration number and the first four digits of their name. It is a common application for engineering, architecture, medical, dental, Ayurveda, Unani, and Homoeopathy courses.

What is KCET Document Verification?

• Every candidate with a valid KCET 2024 rank needs to appear in the nearest helpline a per the schedule.
• Counselling Registration will be confirmed based on KCET 2024 Admission Ticket that can be downloaded from the official website.
• Candidates must present their original documents along with two photocopies each at the time of counselling registration and document verification.
• Documents will be verified to the ones uploaded during KCET 2024 Registration.
• Authorities will provide a verification slip and acknowledgement card upon successful verification.
• Verification slip issued to eligible candidates will include details such as documents verified, caste category, and merit rank to which disciple he/she is eligible. Candidates must verify the details mentioned on the verification slip before leaving the helpline centre.
• No changes will be entertained once the verification slip is issued and document verification is successfully completed.
