The Kerala Government, via its Health & Family Welfare Department, has given the green light to the prospectus for admissions to Medical Postgraduate (PG) Degree Courses for the academic year 2024-25.

The prospectus for admissions to Medical Postgraduate (PG) Degree Courses for the academic year 2024-25 has been sanctioned by the Kerala Government's Health & Family Welfare Department, under the light of G.O.(Ms)No.208/2024/H&FWD. This will be monitored by the Directorate of Medical Education, Thiruvananthapuram.

The approved prospectus covers admissions to MD, MS, and Diploma courses in government medical colleges across the state, as well as the Regional Cancer Centre (RCC) in Thiruvananthapuram.

The total number of PG seats, which includes MD, MS, and Diploma courses, will be announced by the Directorate of Medical Education shortly.

Seat Distribution and Quotas:

The total seats will be distributed across government medical colleges, RCC, and other institutions under a specific quota system, with reservations in place for various categories:

A 5% horizontal reservation is also provided for persons with disabilities.

Fees and Concessions:

The government medical colleges will have a standardized fee structure:

Candidates from SC/ST and Other Eligible Communities (OEC) categories will be exempted from tuition fees as per government norms. There are also provisions for fee concessions for children of fishermen and inmates of government-run institutions like Sree Chitra Home and Nirbhaya Home.

Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible, applicants must have completed their MBBS degree with permanent or provisional registration from the Medical Council of India (MCI) or National Medical Commission (NMC). They should have completed their one-year internship by August 15, 2024. Candidates will be selected based on the NEET PG 2024 ranking.
