This year, the results of Maharashtra HSC and Maharashtra SSC 2020 were declared at a later date due to the disruption caused by Covid-19 pandemic crisis and the subsequent lockdown imposed while the evaluation process was in progress.

Further, the notice states that due to the Covid-19 crisis and the resultant lockdown, students may have difficulty in procuring their eligibility certificates.

Therefore, the deadline will be extended so that the students can avail their eligibility certificates from their respective educational institutions.

The eligibility certificate issued by the board is valid for the students who switch their boards after Class 10 and Class 12.

The students who enroll in new institutions outside the country or within the country are required to have an eligibility certificate issued from the board to apply for admission in the new institute.

According to the reports, an official from the Mumbai divisional board said that as the HSC and SSC 2020 results were declared late this year, the students may have a lesser time to procure their eligibility certificate.

Over the last few days, the board has managed to respond to hundreds of queries related to the eligibility certificate. However, such requests are being processed at an earliest by the board members, he concluded.

Considering the exceptional situation of the pandemic COVID-19, this year the process for procuring the eligibility certificate will be completely held in online mode.
