Maharashtra govt. has decided to start online classes for a common language for Class 11th (FYJC) from November 2, 2020. The state government will conduct the 3-hour classes for the English language for Arts, Commerce, and Science stream.
While students of Class 11th are still uncertain over the admission issue as Supreme court has given a stay order on Maratha reservation in govt. jobs and education.

Who Can Participate in the Class 11th Online Common Language Classes?
As per the Maharashtra state government, students who have secured admission in Class 1th (FYJC) before the Marath quota row will be able to attend classes.
Every day a total of 50 registered students from different colleges will have to attend the online classes via Zoom. These students will be selected on a rotational basis by the state government of Maharashtra.
Further, the state government has selected 80 teachers to ensure that this process is implemented effectively.
Maharashtra Class 11th (FYJC) Current Status
As of now, the admission process of Class 11th students has been halted after the Supreme Court ordered stay on the Maratha reservation granted by the state govt. In education and govt. jobs.
Moreover, only students who have secured admission before the court’s order are eligible to attend the online classes.
As per reports, in the last cabinet meeting, the state govt discussed the issue of Maratha reservation and the issue of Class 11th admission. However, as of now, the state government has got no strong solution to the issue.
"We have got a legal opinion from the Attorney General on this issue, we have discussed this issue with CM of Maharashtra in the cabinet, within next 2-3 days he will take the final decision," State Education minister Varsha Gaikwad.
Further, the Maharashtra government is also planning to start the physical classes after Deepavali after assessing the situation of COVID-19.
"Our priority is to start classes of 9th std to 12th std considering the importance of this educational year. But the safety of students is important for us and we will take a call after monitoring the situation", said Varsha Gaikwad.
