NEET PG Counselling 2024: MCC Releases Notice Regarding Conversion of Nationality from Indian to NRI for Round 3

MCC has issued a notice regarding the conversion of nationality from Indian to NRI for NEET PG round 3 counseling. Students can check the eligibility criteria for the conversion on the official website.

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has issued a notification for candidates seeking to convert their nationality from Indian to NRI for Round 3 of NEET PG Counselling 2024 for MD/MS/Diploma seats. This process is being conducted in compliance with the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India's directions in W.P. (C) No. 689/2017- Consortium of Deemed Universities in Karnataka (CODEUNIK) & Anr. Vs. Union of India & Ors. dated 22 August 2017.

  • Eligibility Criteria:

    • Candidates claiming NRI status must adhere to the directives of the Hon'ble Supreme Court in the cases of W.P. (C) No. 689/2017 and Anshul Tomar (supra).

    • Candidates must submit their documents as per the specified format in Annexure-I.

  • Submission Window:

    • Start: 12:00 PM, 31 December 2024

    • End: 12:00 PM, 1 January 2025

    • Submissions received before or after this time will not be considered.

  • Mode of Submission:

    • Candidates must send a single email with all required documents attached to nri.adgmemcc1@gmail.com.

  • Documents Required:

    • Documents proving that the sponsor is an NRI (passport and visa).

    • Relationship proof between the candidate and the NRI sponsor as per court directives.

    • NEET-PG 2024 scorecard.

    • Notarized affidavit from the sponsor confirming full financial support for the course.

    • Embassy certificate of the sponsor (issued within the last six months).

    • Family tree notarized by a Tehsildar.

    • Translations in English for any document in a regional language.

  • Important Notes:

    • Candidates who have already been converted to NRI status in Round-1 or Round-2 need not resubmit documents.

    • The conversion is provisional and subject to verification by the allotted college at the time of reporting. Embassy certificates may also undergo further verification by the Ministry of External Affairs.

    • Any discrepancies or false claims in the submitted documents may lead to the cancellation of the candidate’s provisional allotment and legal action.

  • Disclaimer:

    • Candidates who convert their category to NRI will no longer be eligible for benefits under Muslim Minority Quota, Jain Minority Quota, SC/ST/OBC/EWS, or any other quotas.
