The NTA is likely to conduct the NEET PG 2024 in August 2024. The revised exam date is yet to be disclosed.
New Delhi: The National Board of Examinations (NBE) is expected to release the revised date of the NEET PG 2024 Exam by next weekend. NBE President Dr. Abhijat Sheth stated that a new date for NEET PG will be revealed: “hopefully before next weekend.” As per data collected from various sources, the NEET PG 2024 will be conducted in August 2024.
The decision was taken after a meeting between NBE officials and the Union Health Ministry to assess the situation and feedback to the government. Earlier, after postponing the NEET PG 2024 Exam date twice, the exam was set to be conducted on June 23, 2024. But, following the controversy surrounding the leak in the NEET UG exams, the NBEMS cancelled the NEET PG 2024 exam just 12 hours before the scheduled date.
The NBE Chief further said that the authorities are hoping that the NEET PG 2024 process will be concluded within two months. “We are hoping to conclude the process in two months,” Sheth added.
Why was NEET PG 2024 Cancelled?
Mr Seth has explained the controversy on the NEET PG 2024 cancellation. He stated that the Ministry needed to confirm that the exam procedure was secure and to check its robustness hours in advance of the scheduled exam date.
Dr. Sheth explained that the NEET PG exam’s CBT format makes it highly secure, with the question paper being generated just an hour before the exam starts. However, the decision to postpone was influenced by the sensitivity of the situation and previous cancellations of other exams by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The aim was to prevent any fraudulent activities that could exploit students’ anxiety.
He mentioned that there had been no reports of any form of exam malfunction, including paper leaks. Because of the board’s strict SoPs, the NBE has been conducting NEET PG for the past seven years without any reports of paper leaks.
