NEET-PG likely in first week of July; no National Exit Test this year

New Delhi: Sources said that the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test-Postgraduate (NEET-PG) will likely be conducted in the first week of July, followed by counseling in the first week of August. These data were shared on January 6, 2024.

Additionally, it was informed that the National Exit Test (NExT) will not be conducted this year. As per sources, "The NEET-PG examination is likely to be held in the first week of July. The counselling is likely to begin in the first week of August."

The "Post-Graduate Medical Education Regulations, 2023," recently introduced to replace the Postgraduate Medical Education (Amendment) Regulations, 2018, have outlined that the existing NEET-PG examination will continue until the proposed NExT becomes operative for facilitating PG admissions.

NEET-PG is an important eligibility and ranking examination and is the sole entrance examination for admission into MD/MS and PG Diploma Courses under the National Medical Commission Act, 2019.

NEET PG 2024 Eligibility

Before applying, a candidate must ascertain that they fulfill the below-mentioned NEET 2024 PG Eligibility before applying for the exam:

Nationality: Candidate must be an Indian citizen or an Overseas Citizen of India (OCI).
Academic Eligibility: An MBBS degree or Provisional MBBS Pass Certificate recognized by the NMC Act 2019 and the IMC Act 1956.
Internship: Candidates are required to complete a one-year compulsory rotating internship on or before March 31, 2024.
