Shivangi Mishra & others moved to SC & applied a plea demanding fresh NEET UG examination amid the paper leak concerns

NEET Leak

New Delhi: Amid various news reports on the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) UG 2024 paper leak on May 5, 2024, a group of medical aspirants filed a fresh plea in the Supreme Court of India for conducting a fresh NEET examination. A NEET UG 2024 candidate, Shivangi Mishra & others have made the National Testing Agency (NTA) an opposition & raised the issue of paper leak and the sanctity of the test while demanding re-examination.

The petition was filed on June 1, 2024, through lawyer Usha Nandini V & the hearing dates are yet to be disclosed. The case is expected to be listed before a vacation bench this week. As per the plea, the paper leak violated Article 14 of the Indian Constitution (Right to Equality). This malpractice gave a group of students undue advantages over those who worked hard & sat in the examination fairly.

Recently, the SC refused to grant a stay order on NEET UG 2024 results but heard the plea requesting that the NEET UG 2024 exams be retaken in light of the alleged malpractices and paper leaks.

The paper leak claims were also made on social media platforms like “X”. In response to that, the NTA stated that there were no paper leaks on the exam day.
