Upon facing an accusation from Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge during the NEET UG scam, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan tweets that there is no strong evidence of a paper leak, cheating, or corruption.

New Delhi: Amid widespread chaos regarding the NEET UG paper leak, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that there is no solid proof of cheating, corruption, or paper leaks in the NEET exam. He further enlightened the students regarding the new enactment of the Central Government, i.e. Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act to prevent such problems.
He further added that "Congress should not be under the misconception that if any nexus is found, no action will be taken against it. The provisions of this Act will be implemented very carefully."

Mallikarjun Kharge, the Congress President, accused the Modi government of major corruption in the NEET exam process. He tweeted, "Grace Marks were not the only problem in the NEET exam. There has been cheating, papers have been leaked, and corruption has happened." He accused the Modi government for destroying millions of students' futures over the past decade through exam leaks and cheating.
Dharmendra Pradhan's Response
Pradhan promptly responded to Mallikarjun Kharge's contentions. He accused Congress of playing politics with students' futures and said, “Instead of trying to gain political advantage, Congress should help in developing India." He also pointed out that such political moves create confusion and stress for students, especially as the NEET counselling process is about to begin.

Counseling Process to Continue
On June 13, the Supreme Court allowed for the commencement of the NEET UG 2024 counselling process despite several petitions questioning the exam's fairness. The court stressed on the need to continue with counselling and admissions without any delay.
Re-Exam for Affected Students
The National Testing Agency (NTA) stated before the court that the scorecards of 1,563 NEET-UG 2024 candidates, who were given grace marks, have been withheld. These students can retake the exam on June 23, 2024, with results expected by June 30, 2024. The Supreme Court said, “These candidates will be informed of their actual scores without extra marks. A re-exam will be held for the affected 1,563 students. Results for those who don't want to retake the exam will be based on their actual marks.”
