NEET UG 2024 Re-Exam on June 23

New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the NEET UG 2024 Re-Exam on June 23 for 1553 affected candidates who faced time loss during the NEET UG 2024 exam. The decision is made as per the recommendations made by the NTA committee and SC verdict.

In addition to this, the exam authority has cancelled grace marks for all affected candidates. The official notice informs that candidates who do not wish to appear for the NEET UG 2024 Re-Test must note that their results will be declared without compensation/grace marks, as per their performance on the exam held on May 05, 2024.

This step was taken after the Supreme Court of India gave a verdict on June 13, 2024 on various pleas against the NEET UG 2024 Result approving the re-test for the 1563 candidates who were initially given grace marks.

The SC said that the re-examination will be on June 23, 2024, before the scheduled result on June 30, 2024. The re-test notification will be released on June 13 only. The results for these candidates will also be released as promptly as possible so that the July counselling schedule doesn’t get affected.

Education Minister Denies NEET UG 2024 Paper Leak Allegations

After the SC verdict, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan made a statement denying all the NEET UG 2024 paper leak allegations. He said, "There is no corruption. In connection with the NEET examination, 24 lakh students appear in the examination. A hearing in the Supreme Court is underway today, and this issue concerns around 1,500 students”.

“The government is ready to give answers to the Court. The government will present this in front of the Court. The NTA conducts three major examinations— NEET, JEE, and CUET successfully in the country. We will take action against the people responsible”, he added.

Controversy remained on high fuel as per various resources, many students couldn’t file pleas for the issue of late exam paper distribution. Among those 1563, those who will not appear on the NEET UG 2024 re-test, will also face disadvantages because the late paper distribution issue would remain the same.

Hence, students are still protesting even after the SC verdict on June 13, 2024. Candidates are demanding a special investigation against the paper leak issue to be conducted first.
