The NMC has asked the medical colleges to threaten the MBBS course completion date in order to determine the date for the NExt 2023 exam.

New Delhi: The National Medical Commission (NMC) has asked the medical colleges to threaten the MBBS course completion date in order to determine the date for the National Exit Test (NExt 2023) exam. The commission published draft regulations for postgraduate medical education, licence criteria, and programme requirements in December of last year.
The National Exit Test (NExt) regulations "are likely to be finalised shortly" and "would be placed before the NMC in the next meeting to be scheduled in June 2023," the NMC stated in a letter sent to the Directors of Medical Education of all states. The commission stated that the completion date of the MBBS course is necessary in order to set the date of the NExT 2023 exam.
It has therefore asked all DMEs to provide information regarding the anticipated completion date of the MBBS programme at all medical colleges in their respective states and union territories.
The NEET PG 2023 will be replaced by the NExT draft regulation, which was released in December 2022. The exam will be divided into conceptual and practical portions in accordance with the regulations. The NExT practical exam will take place in the second week of March, while the theory exam will take place in the second week of December.
The NExT 2023 test will consist of six papers: otorhinolaryngology, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, medicine and related disciplines, and surgery and allied disciplines. The students who have completed their bachelor’s degree from a medical school are eligible to appear for the NExt 2023 entrance exam.
