The National Medical Commission (NMC) has issued a critical directive, requiring all medical colleges to provide data on students admitted to first-year postgraduate medical courses for the academic year 2023-24 by October 28.
New Delhi: The National Medical Commission (NMC) has issued a directive to all medical colleges, requiring them to furnish data on students enrolled in first-year postgraduate medical courses for the academic year 2023-24 by October 28, 2023.
The NMC has outlined that the information should encompass details about both the colleges and the students. The commission stressed that medical institutions must ensure that the admission process adheres to several criteria, including compliance with the NEET PG, sanctioned enrollment capacity, candidate selection procedures, cutoff dates, and the disbursement of stipends.

The NMC, in an official notification, has emphasized the need for medical colleges to ensure that all postgraduate course admissions strictly adhere to merit-based and transparent processes, in accordance with the Regulations.
The notice has warned that any violations will result in the expulsion of the concerned students from their courses, along with legal action against the respective Medical College or Institution, as permitted by the law.
Colleges are mandated to furnish the following student particulars:
- Course name
- Sanctioned intake capacity
- Admission date
- Student name with registration number and their respective state medical council
- Category
- Gender
- NEET PG percentile, All India Rank, state rank
- Stipend
- Name of the PG teacher responsible for the student's admission
The deadline for enrolling in broad specialty courses was scheduled for October 25, 2023, and the period for submitting associated details is extended until October 28, 2023.
As for admission to super specialty courses and the specific deadline for submitting related details, the NMC will announce this information at a later date.
