NMC Regulates PG Medical Counselling through Online Mode

New Delhi: A recent notification from the National Medical Commission (NMC) has introduced the “Post-Graduate Medical Education Regulations, 2023,” stating that all the rounds of counselling for seats will be done by central or state counselling authorities through online mode only. 

The official statement applies to both NEET PG Counselling that said “All the rounds of counselling for the seats will be held on the online mode by central or state counselling authority.” 

The notification emphasized that no medical institution will be allowed to admit any candidate independently.

It clarifies this point by mentioning “No Medical institution/college will be permitted to admit any candidate independently”. The regulations delineate the provisions for uniform counselling for admission to post-graduate medical courses throughout all Indian medical establishments.

The statement said “Without prejudice to anything stated in the present Regulations or other NMC Regulations, there shall be common counselling for admission to postgraduate courses in medicine for all medical institutions in India solely based on the merit list of respective exams.

The notification emphasises the significance of fee data being transparent and mentions “While entering details in the seat matrix, medical colleges shall mention the amount of fees for each course, failing which the seat will not be counted”.
