New Delhi: Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science & Technology, Earth Sciences, and Minister of State (Independent Charge) for MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy, and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh, recently visited the proposed site of the Government Homoeopathic College in Jasrota village. During the visit, he observed that the construction of the boundary wall had already started.

Expressing his enthusiasm, Dr. Jitendra Singh stated that North India's first Government Homoeopathic College, funded centrally with an allocation of INR 80 Crore, is granted to be established in the Jasrota region of Kathua district in Jammu and Kashmir.

The minister received comprehensive briefings from engineers and senior experts from the Department of Ayush regarding the institution. He conveyed his appreciation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for approving this project, highlighting it as a source of pride for the residents of Kathua

The estimated cost for establishing this Government Homoeopathic College ranges between INR 70-80 crore. The proposed campus will cover an extensive area of more than 8 acres, with the potential addition of three adjacent adjacent acres.

Dr. Jitendra Singh outlined the planned infrastructure, which includes a hospital complex, a college building, an administrative block, and separate hostels for male and female students. He also revealed that the available open space would be utilised for the future construction of facilities such as an auditorium and playground.

The establishment of this Homoeopathic College is anticipated to fulfil the aspirations of Homoeopathy degree aspirants in North India, where such an institution was previously lacking. It will also offer cost-effective treatment options for patients in need. 

Dr Jitendra Singh emphasised that this initiative aligns with the Modi government's healthcare strategy, which emphasizes the integration of allopathic and Ayush streams, encompassing Homoeopathy, Ayurveda, and Naturopathy.
