Three MP Colleges to Become Universities Named after National Heroes; Check Details Here

New Delhi: The Madhya Pradesh Government has given the approval to three colleges in the state to be upgraded to universities. The new universities will be named after national heroes. 

According to an official order from the higher education department of Madhya Pradesh, “The state government gives in-principle approval for the upgradation of the government colleges to the universities against their names as follows”.

The three colleges to have received the approval are: Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Arts and Commerce Government College, Sagar; Government Post Graduate College, Khargone; and Government Post Graduate College, Guna. They will be upgraded to Rani Avantibai Lodhi University, Krantisurya Tantaya Bheel University, and Tatya Tope University respectively.

The higher education department also shared the status of the three colleges according to which the first college will be a constituent unit of the university and will continue to exist whereas the other two colleges will be merged into the universities.

The three new universities will start functioning from 2024-25 session. A separate notification will be released for the establishment of the universities, approval of posts, and financial activities.

As a result of the upgradation of the colleges, the assets, records, and responsibilities of the colleges as well as the students admitted from the 2024-25 session will come under the universities, MP government further informed.
